I’m a painter and printmaker working in Stuyvesant, New York. I use both processes to record simple observations as well as to embark on more complex artistic and aesthetic investigations. Paintings can inspire a print project, and printmaking can be a catalyst for a painting series.

I learned traditional English furniture-making under Ian Kirby and Ros Freer from 1977 to 1980, and soon after began a custom architectural woodwork and furniture business. Meanwhile, I rented and borrowed space for printing and painting. Eventually, I built my own studio within a larger "workshop" building, where I’ve been able to blend my craft and art practices. The current studios, started in 2000, are a multi-decade creation. Today, they act as a laboratory where I can host an elaborate project or a spontaneous work session with another artist.
